When I was a young girl
I saw a picture in a magazine of a house with black doors throughout.
I knew in an instant when I had my own home
I had to paint my doors black!
I removed the hinges and stripped 6 layers of paint from them
then did the same with the brass and glass door knobs and gave them a good scrubbing.
( 80 years of gook removed).
I then lightly sanded the doors and painted them Cannonball (Ace color).
I used Clark+Kensington paint+primer from Ace in satin.
This job was a little time consuming, but very rewarding.

I love the black doors - great job. Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and your words of advice. I completely agree and we are on the same page about collecting and keeping memories. I have a small collection of shells that will be coming with us. We may also do a beach memory jar before we leave and take some South Padre Island sand with us ;). I am off to read more about your lovely cottage. :D
ReplyDeleteThe black doors look gorgeous Michelle! Love them. And, I love reading your source list- we've traveled the same roads (except for Florida;) Your new (old;) chandelier sounds wonderful- will you please do a post on it; would love to see it!!
